Basil

Whsl: 5 ml $24.75
Retail: $32.57

PV: $24.75

TIP 1: Basil, go ahead, cook with this oil, you know you want to! Add a drop or two or three to your spaghetti sauce =)

TIP 2: This oil is a nice one to use on fatigued and sore muscles.

TIP 3: Basil is a mentally refreshing oil, it can help lift you up when you are mentally or emotionally are dragging.

TIP 4: You could apply a drop of basil to a bite or a sting. You might want to dilute basil with a drop of V6.

TIP 5: This is a great oil to support the respiratory system.

Therapeutic Properties of Basil: analgesic, antidepressant, antispasmodic, anti-venomous, carminative, cephalic, diaphoretic, digestive, emmenagogue, expectorant, febrifuge, insecticide, nervine, stomachic, sudorific, tonic and stimulant.

* Not all oils or oil companies are the same! Young Living oils are THE ONLY oils I would trust with internal use! Occasionally an oil will feel "hot", if this happens, or you get an oil in your eye, add a carrier oil to dilute it, NEVER water, remember oil and water don't mix! A good carrier oil could be Young Living's V6 oil or something you cook with like olive or coconut oil.

Essential Oil Tip of the Week...Citronella!!!

Citronella
(Cymbopogon nardus)

Whsl: 15 ml $17.75
Retail: $23.36

PV: $17.75
TIP 1:  Now that the snow is flying in my neck of the woods, my bottle of citronella can be put away...but once those pesky mosquitos and gnats return, this oil is one of my favorites for keeping those itchy "beasts" at bay! I like to put a couple drops in my hand, along with lavender, purification and lemongrass and rub it all over my exposed skin...and clothes! Some days it works like a charm, and some days the "beasts" are mightier than the oil...but I prefer to start with this over the heavy chemicals in mainstream bug spray!

TIP 2: Historically, this oil was used to deodorize and sanitize. You could add it to some water in a spray bottle to clean surfaces like kitchen counters and bathrooms.

TIP 3: Citronella is also a nice oil to help clear the mind. Place a few drops in a diffuser and see if it lifts the fog in your mind!

TIP 4: Sometimes citronella has been used to cool a person off when they are too warm. I would start by putting a drop or two on the bottom of your feet!

TIP 5: This is also a great oil to put on the bottom of your feet when you are tired and sweaty. It has the ability to energize you...and it's also nice to keep your feet and shoes from smelling too bad! =)

Therapeutic Properties of Citronella: antiseptic, bactericidal, deodorant, diaphoretic, insecticide, parasitic, tonic and stimulant.

Essential Oil Tip of The Week...Idaho Blue Spruce!!!

Idaho Blue Spruce
(Picea Pungens)
Item No. 3093
Whsl: 5 ml bottle $24.75
 Retail: $32.57
        PV: $24.75

TIP 1: This is an amazing oil exclusively bottled at the Young Living's St. Maries farm in Idaho. Our bodies have a frequency (an energy). A healthy person's frequency is between 62-68 MHz. The lower your frequency goes, the less health you have until you reach a frequency of 0, in which you have no life. Until the discovery of the Idaho Blue Spruce oil in 2012, it was believed that Rose oil had the highest frequency of all pure oils at 320MHz. It has been discovered that Idaho Blue Spruce is at a frequency of 428MHz! By diffusing this oil or rubbing it on your body, you will help raise your frequency, which is always a good thing!

TIP 2: This oil can be cleansing to cuts, bruises and other skin irritations.

TIP 3: Idaho Blue Spruce is an amazing oil for your emotional health. It helps to open and remove emotional blocks and leave you with a feeling of peace and serenity.

TIP 4: This is another good oil to have on hand in your gym bag for those achy, sore muscles. Rub a little on after a hard workout!

TIP 5: This oil has also been shown to be very beneficial to the male endocrine system! Dr. Dan Purser has done much research on this oil and has worked with Gary Young in helping to create Young Living's products including their popular blend, Progessence Plus. You can find him at his website: http://danpursermd.com/ and on Facebook.

Properties of Idaho Blue Spruce: anti-oxidant and relaxing
