Antibiotics: The Untold Story

All too often I hear about children routinely being put on antibiotics; even if it is a viral problem in which antibiotics will have no effect. Hopefully after reading this you will think twice about jumping to antibiotics, especially in unnecessary situations.

Ear infections in children is one such example that more often than not will end up with a round of antibiotics to get rid of the problem. I have had many children in my office that have suffered needlessly with ear infections for years and many rounds of antibiotics, only to have them recur. After checking their spine and adjusting the subluxations, we tend to find these ear infections a distant memory.

Never assume spinal adjustments or chiropractic care can not improve your life in one way or another.

Dr. Heather Giesen

  1. Thanks for posting this! It's all I needed to hear about my sons ear infection. I wasn't under his care when he was brought in to get checked out for his ear infection and they put him on antibiotics. I was kind of hesitant myself of putting him on it and wanted to get him to take supplements instead to help alleviate his problems. He was fine the day after he saw the Doctor and I know it wasn't because of the anti-biotics, he just needed some more time to have his body work it out. I am not against anti-biotics because I know they have their place but I think they are over-prescribed in this country, like so many other drugs(statins in particular!).
