* Not all oils or oil companies are the same! Young Living oils are THE ONLY oils I would trust with internal use! Occasionally an oil will feel "hot", if this happens, or you get an oil in your eye, add a carrier oil to dilute it, NEVER water, remember oil and water don't mix! A good carrier oil could be Young Living's V6 oil or something you cook with like olive or coconut oil.

Essential Oil Tip of the Week...Citronella!!!

Citronella
(Cymbopogon nardus)

Whsl: 15 ml $17.75
Retail: $23.36

PV: $17.75
TIP 1:  Now that the snow is flying in my neck of the woods, my bottle of citronella can be put away...but once those pesky mosquitos and gnats return, this oil is one of my favorites for keeping those itchy "beasts" at bay! I like to put a couple drops in my hand, along with lavender, purification and lemongrass and rub it all over my exposed skin...and clothes! Some days it works like a charm, and some days the "beasts" are mightier than the oil...but I prefer to start with this over the heavy chemicals in mainstream bug spray!

TIP 2: Historically, this oil was used to deodorize and sanitize. You could add it to some water in a spray bottle to clean surfaces like kitchen counters and bathrooms.

TIP 3: Citronella is also a nice oil to help clear the mind. Place a few drops in a diffuser and see if it lifts the fog in your mind!

TIP 4: Sometimes citronella has been used to cool a person off when they are too warm. I would start by putting a drop or two on the bottom of your feet!

TIP 5: This is also a great oil to put on the bottom of your feet when you are tired and sweaty. It has the ability to energize you...and it's also nice to keep your feet and shoes from smelling too bad! =)

Therapeutic Properties of Citronella: antiseptic, bactericidal, deodorant, diaphoretic, insecticide, parasitic, tonic and stimulant.
